Rangoli

Rangoli - is the design kept in front of the house. this is basically done with a white power (usually the powder of the rock). Times back the floor used to be mud. many insects like ants would easily go inside the house. What they used to do is that keep rangoli in front of the main door so that it will be distruction for the ants to enter. Now a days even if we all have cement house all different kinds of protetion for ants and all here in India people still keep rangoli in front of the house. But this looks very good. usually this is done every day morning after cleaning the premisis. it looks very beautiful. sometimes in festival times this will be colorful also.
